● Experience in Campus
Event Visual Design · Public Cultural Communication
During my third year, I served as President of the Sheridan Chinese Students and Scholars Association(CSSA) and created posters and visual materials for multiple student-led events. I also designed promotional posters and program layouts for Chinese New Year celebrations held at Oakville Town Hall over two consecutive years. These projects required balancing illustration, layout, and clear information delivery for real public audiences. The work was applied across print and digital formats in active event settings.

Volunteer
Beyond my creative practice, volunteering has been an important way for me to connect with people, support communities, and create meaningful experiences through art and collaboration. I enjoy working in environments where creativity becomes a shared language, especially when it helps others feel seen, welcomed, and supported.

SFP Animal Rescue Volunteer
For the past two years, I have been volunteering with SFP, an animal rescue organization dedicated to supporting and rehoming stray and abandoned cats. This long-term commitment has become an important part of my life, allowing me to care for animals while contributing to a compassionate community.
Provided daily care for cats at in-person adoption locations, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their well-being
Helped create a calm and safe environment to reduce stress and support their adjustment
Conducted phone screenings with potential adopters, assessing suitability and ensuring responsible placements
Communicated clearly and thoughtfully with adopters, balancing empathy with careful judgment
Working closely with rescue animals has strengthened my sense of responsibility, patience, and attention to detail. It has also taught me how trust is built gradually, through consistency, care, and respect for both animals and people.
Volunteering, for me, is not just about contributing time, but about building small moments of trust and connection. Whether through art, conversation, or simple acts of support, I aim to create spaces where people feel comfortable to participate and express themselves.
These are some of the cats I’ve had the chance to care for. If you’re wondering where they are now, I’m happy to say they’ve all found their forever homes. 🐾
